Background
Supercast has built a Patreon Migration tool to help Creators migrate subscribers en masse over to Supercast.
The current tool is described here:
Patreon Migration Tool
We are now iterating on this based on our first few customer migrations.
Goals
- We want to make the Patreon migration flow feel more like a migration of your existing plan to the equivalent on Supercast (with the option to upgrade if desired). Currently it feels like regular plan selection that you get on the landing pages.
- We want to clearly display the amount of credit you will be receiving towards your subscription
- In the case of grandfathering, we want to clearly show that they are keeping their exact price on Patreon.
- In the case of promotions we clearly show there is a promotion (This works well today, but when you add credit into the equation it can be confusing)
- During checkout, whether Patreon migration or regular, we want to show a “timeline” to clearly display/breakdown what you’re going to be billed.
Current flow
The first step requires users to login to their Patreon account so we can verify identity. Assuming they login to a valid account they’ll see the migration offer screen:

The “Bronze” plan is normally $5 on Supercast but in this instance I am supporting on Patreon for $6 so the full price carries over. The higher value plans show as normal but we intend to have them collapsed by default in your designs. Plans of lower value are hidden.
The outline is only around the grandfathered price, even when not selected.
Clicking on “Subscribe Now” takes you to the checkout flow:
